GCC Climate and Liveability

Community Jameel and AEON Collective have brought together a consortium of researchers from world-class institutes to uncover the state of the evidence base on the impact of climate change on health in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Together, they are producing a report that outlines the relationship between climate change and health in the GCC.

The analyses include both a historical and future modelling of climate change and climate variability in the region and study the impacts of these trends on health including deeper dives on heat stress, Hajj conditions, vector-borne disease, communicable disease, cardiopulmonary disease, water scarcity and energy consumption, and food security and its impact on nutrition.
