Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL)

Sparking a global renaissance in education

The world faces a major challenge to adapt to the changing nature of work: automation, globalisation, unemployment and the global refugee crisis are rapidly changing the paradigm for education. MIT and Community Jameel cofounded the Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL) in 2017 with the mission to spark a global renaissance in education.

J-WEL works with its member organisations to promote excellence and transformation in education at MIT and worldwide, engaging educators, technologists, policymakers, societal leaders, employers, and employees through online and in-person collaborations, workshops, research, and information-sharing events. J-WEL member organisations work with MIT faculty and staff to address global opportunities for scalable change in education.
