Voxel Lab at the Jameel Rapid Prototyping Room

A makerspace for innovation and entrepreneurship in music and the arts

The Voxel Lab is a prototyping space housed within the Jameel Rapid Prototyping Room at MIT's InnovationHQ (iHQ). The Lab offers space and cutting edge tools to anyone in the MIT community interested in working on music and arts related projects, both inside and outside of their academic work.

Established in 2021 by a cross departmental group of Arts at MIT, Music and Theater Arts, and the Office of Innovation HQ, the Voxel Lab is a student-led community of over 150 student members and multiple student groups engaged in creative work in music, visual arts, fashion, textiles, and other digital arts. It is home to Studio38, a music recording and production studio, and the Creative Arts Competition, which supports arts focused startups at the Institute.
