Eliminating agricultural pesticide pollution and helping farmers reduce chemical input costs
AgZen's field-tested and patented spray and formulation technology enables agrochemical droplets to stick better to plants, helping farmers to reduce pesticide pollution and save operational costs without compromising on crop yield.
Invented by MIT mechanical engineering graduate Vishnu Jayaprakash, winner of the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame Collegiate Inventor Competition 2022, and co-founded with Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, Kripa Varanasi, AgZen received funding from J-WAFS Solutions Program to enable global field tests of the technology and its commercialisation. J-WAFS Solutions Program awards one-year grants of up to $150,000 to up to three MIT research projects per year which seek solutions to pressing water and food challenges.
AgZen’s technology has won multiple awards, including $50K at the MIT 100K Competition 2020 and over $500K in investment and prizes at the Rice Business Plan Competition 2021.
