Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo

Preserving and championing Egypt’s oldest crafts

Launched in 2009, the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo has established itself as a prolific educational institution, one that hosts classes on traditional Islamic geometry, drawing, colour harmony and arabesque studies, as well as specialised training in ceramics, glass and gypsum, metalwork and woodwork.

Aiming to preserve these enduring crafts and practices, the collaborative project between , the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, and Egypt’s Cultural Development Fund, Jameel House offers two-year diplomas, placing students in the heart of World Heritage Site, Old Cairo.
