J-WAFS welcomes Rohit Karnik as new associate director

Professor Rohit Karnik has been announced as the new associate director, of the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). A professor in MIT's mechanical engineering department, Rohit is an expert in nanotechnology, fluid mechanics and separation processes which are applied to water filtration, desalination and biosensor technologies. Working alongside J-WAFS director John Lienhard and executive director Renee Robins, Rohit will help to shape the J-WAFS research agenda and priorities. His role will contribute to the mission of J-WAFS in addressing critical issues of water and food quality, scarcity and production affected by climate change. With years of experience in the J-WAFS community through research and seed grants, Rohit will also support proposal review processes, project oversight and corporate partnerships.
