Designing for better lives

Flavio Emilio Vila Skrzypek, a graduate student in the department of urban studies and planning at MIT, wants to design cities without inequities. Ultimately, he hopes to use his master’s degree to contribute to the decolonisation of land and property regimes in his home country, Peru. Flavio worked with his advisor, Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) principal investigator and associate professor in the department of urban studies and planning, Gabriella Carolini, on a J-WAFS project to enhance US water affordability.
