CREWSnet project forecasts a climate early warning system for all

One of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Climate Grand Challenges flagship projects, the Jameel Observatory Climate Resilience Early Warning System Network (Jameel Observatory-CREWSnet) is a forecasting platform which aims to empower underserved communities by providing tools they need to adapt to climate shocks and plan for the future. Launched by MIT and Community Jameel in partnership with Bangladesh-based partner BRAC and the Agricultural Research Corporation-Sudan, the platform will pilot initially in Bangladesh and Sudan with a view to expanding support to climate-vulnerable communities worldwide, especially in the agricultural sector. The project is led by Professor Elfatih Eltahir, co-director of the Jameel Observatory, an international research laboratory that uses data and technology to help communities adapt to climate change impacts.
