India Data Capacity Accelerator launched to train 1 million Indians in climate and health data work

While there is potential for 3.5 million data professionals across the world to use data to inform policy and respond to pressing global challenges, there remains significant data skills gaps across labour markets, and particularly in low- and middle-income countries. A new programme launched by data.org in partnership with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)'s South Asia office will work with three Indian universities to upskill one million emerging research and policy practitioners in using data to solve climate and health challenges. The programme, 'The India Data Capacity Accelerator', is funded by a USD 2.3 million grant from Wellcome.
