Fighting poverty with development policies informed by science, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab has helped more than half a billion people by 2022

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) aims to support government development inititatives to reduce the spread of poverty in the world by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence, enabling it to help more than half a billion people around the world by 2022. With a network of more than 250 affiliated professors at universities around the world who conduct randomised impact assessments to answer critical poverty questions, more than 540 million people have been reached through programmes and policies.
