'Data for Social Transformation' association launched by 21 Japanese leaders, will the social security problem be solved?
Social security accounts for one third of Japan's public spending and unless the social security system changes, it poses an ever-increasing financial burden to future generations. Taking its cue from evidence-based social change efforts led by foreign organisations, including the Adbul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, the Data for Social Transformation (DST) association of Japanese leaders across business, public life and academia aim to build a more sustainable social system.
