BRAC International signs MoU with Rwanda to empower people in extreme poverty

BRAC International, a leading nonprofit organisation empowering communities in poverty, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rwanda's Ministry of Local Government to empower the estimated half of the local population that still lives in extreme poverty. Efforts include extending BRAC's model Graduation programme to Rwanda and supporting participants' health, training, financial literacy and social empowerment. Research by Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo, co-founders of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, proves that this combination of support and resources is critical for long-term impact.
