La politique de l’autonomie: Lutter contre la pauvreté (Vol 2)

Co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, Esther Duflo, studies the situation on the ground and shows how policy discourse regarding poverty tends to, naively, bet everything on the initiative of the poor. The author argues that neither micro-finance nor local governance can replace public health or anti-corruption policies and that relentless experimentation in public policy and measuring policy effectiveness is necessary to concretely improve the lives of the poor.
