J-PAL MENA Scholars Fellowship

The J-PAL MENA Scholars Fellowship provides a dedicated pathway for MENA region-based researchers to build skills and experience to design and conduct randomised evaluations of poverty reduction and social development policies and programs.

Hosted at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) MENA office at the American University of Cairo, with support from Community Jameel and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, the J-PAL MENA Scholars Fellowship enables early career researchers and scholars to expand their research portfolio to include randomised evaluations.

Over a two-year programme, selected scholars will receive a USD 15,000 stipend to support their participation in fellowship programme activities, including: cohort networking, mentorship from the J-PAL affiliate network, participation in a dedicated training programme, and the opportunity to contribute to a randomised evaluation with J-PAL MENA. The contributions of J-PAL MENA Scholars Fellows will help shape J-PAL MENA's research portfolio and strengthen the local grounding and policy influence of impact evaluations across the region.
