Vice Chairman, Community Jameel
Hassan Jameel is Vice Chairman of Community Jameel, the global organisation formally established in 2003 to continue the Jameel family’s tradition of supporting the community.
In this role, Hassan is closely involved in Community Jameel’s collaborations with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), including a number of labs addressing some of humanity’s greatest challenges: global poverty; water and food security; the future of education; and machine learning in health. Hassan is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council in the School of Engineering at MIT.
Hassan leads Community Jameel’s refugee education programmes, including Transforming Refugee Education towards Excellence (TREE) a collaboration between Save the Children and the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab, tackling the psychosocial challenges encountered by teachers and students in Jordan.
Hassan is Vice Chairman of Bab Rizq Jameel; the award-winning livelihoods programme that has helped hundreds of thousands of men and women in Saudi Arabia to work.
Hassan is Deputy President and Vice Chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel, where he heads domestic operations, including automotive, land and real estate, and machinery. He is a member of the board of Abdul Latif Jameel.
Hassan holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, and gained an MBA from the London Business School.
