Fady Jameel is Vice Chairman of Community Jameel, an independent, global organisation advancing science to help communities thrive in a rapidly changing world.
In this role, Fady is closely involved in Community Jameel’s efforts to tackle some of humanity’s greatest challenges, including: global poverty; water and food security; the future of education; machine learning in health; data modelling of disease; and early action against hunger.
Fady is the Founder and Chairman of Art Jameel, the arts and culture organisation. Alongside partnerships with the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Art Jameel runs two major art centres, Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. These centres serve as a platform to support and foster contemporary art and creative entrepreneurship across the region and worldwide. Fady is a member of the Council for the Arts at MIT.
Fady is Vice Chairman of Bab Rizq Jameel, the award-winning livelihoods programme that has helped hundreds of thousands of men and women in Saudi Arabia to work, and Vice Chairman of Community Jameel Saudi Arabia.
Fady is Deputy President and Vice Chairman, International of Abdul Latif Jameel, a family-owned diversified business, founded in 1945 by his grandfather, the late Abdul Latif Jameel.
Fady holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He speaks English, Arabic, and Japanese.
