Karim El Aynaoui is the executive vice-president and dean of the School of the humanities, economics and social sciences cluster at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), which houses the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Moroccan Innovation and Evaluation Lab (MEL). He is also the executive president of the Policy Centre for the New South.
From 2005-2012, Karim served as director of economics, statistics and international relations at the Central Bank of Morocco. He previously worked as an economist for the World Bank.
Karim holds a PhD in economics from the University of Bordeaux. He is Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
