UK must prioritise food security warns NFU

Since Brexit, the UK has had to source fruit and vegetables from further afield, including Morocco where climate events are more prevalent. Several supermarkets have been forced to place limits on fruit and vegetable purchases. Scientists, including Guyo Roba of the Jameel Observatory, have warned that the climate crisis could jeopardise the world’s food security, by contributing to drought and unsurvivable conditions for crops, but the UK could ‘hit a tipping point’, warns NFU deputy president Tom Bradshaw.
