Former J-PAL-affiliated professor Mónica Martínez Bravo is appointed Spain's new Minister of Social Rights and Inclusion
Former Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab(J-PAL)-affiliated professor (2022) Mónica Martínez Bravo has been appointed Spain's new Minister of Social Rights and Inclusion. She was previously Secretary General of Inclusion at the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration headed by Elma Saiz.
Mónica is recognised for her research in the field of equal opportunities, reports La Republica. During her time as a J-PAL affiliate, between 2021-23, she worked on J-PAL Europe's partnership with Spain's Ministry of Inclusion to launch a Policy Lab, as principal researcher and scientific coordinator in the team evaluating the pilot of a Minimum Vital Income (IMV) policy.
