Five MIT faculty elected to the National Academy of Sciences for 2023

Jameel Clinic Principal Investigator Dina Katabi and 2022 Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) Principal Investigator Gang Chen are among five MIT researchers recognised by the National Academy of Sciences for their 'continuous and outstanding contributions to original research'. Membership to the Academy is one of the highest honours a scientist can receive in their career. Dina is known for her work in wireless data transmission, developing wireless devices that assist with digital health using AI and radio signals. Gang is a pioneer in nanoscale heat transfer and energy conversion, and has significantly contributed to the understanding of heat transfer and energy conversion mechanisms, developed high-performance thermoelectric materials, superior semiconductors, highly heat-conductive polymers and water desalination materials.
