Eight MIT faculty elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences for 2023
Eight Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) faculty members are among more than 250 leaders from academia, the arts, industry, public policy and research elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the most prestigious honorary societies and a leading centre for independent policy research. Among those elected is Evelyn Wang, principal investigator (2017, 2021) at the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) and head of MIT's department of mechanical engineering. In 2022, Evelyn was appointed the director of the US department of energy’s 'Advanced research projects agency-energy' to support critical energy research.
