US and UAE governments highlight early warning system for climate resilience

8 May 2023

MIT and Community Jameel have launched the Jameel Observatory Climate Resilience Early Warning System Network (Jameel Observatory-CREWSnet) to build community resilience to climate change effects. The project, recognised as an innovation sprint at the 2023 AIM4C summit, aims to empower agriculture communities to adapt to climate shocks through cross-sector collaborations and technological solutions. It will initially pilot in Bangladesh and Sudan, leveraging climate forecasting, predictive analytics, and new technologies to support sustainable agriculture and enhance resilience. The initiative emphasises integrating local climate insights to proactively manage climate risks and economic opportunities.
