Partnership development for climate adaptation in Arab States
A live stream of the first day of Partnership development for climate adaptation in Arab States, organised by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab Middle East and North Africa at AUC (J-PAL MENA) with Community Jameel, Arab Water Council, Egypt's Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development. The conference brings together 250 policymakers, donors, researchers and practitioners to strengthen regional cooperation on aligning climate action goals and building evidence-based climate policy.
The first day of the conference includes an opening ceremony with remarks from HE Dr Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Egypt; Hani Sewilam, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Egypt; Mahmoud Abu Zeid, president, Arab Water Council; Ahmed Dallal, president of AUC; Ahmed Elsayed, executive director, J-PAL Mena at AUC and George Richards, director Community Jameel.
The conference includes the launch of the Clean Air and Water Lab Egypt, one in a network of J-PAL-led Climate Labs, which will work collaboratively with national-level government partners to co-diagnose pressing climate issues and develop and scale evidence-based policy solutions.
