In celebration of the World Health Organisation (WHO) 75th anniversary and World Health Day, WHO hosts a concert to celebrate the healing power of the arts on 8 April 2023 at Geneva’s Victoria Hall.
The concert extends a musical ‘merci’ to the people of Geneva and features performances by sopranos Renée Fleming and Pretty Yende, musical groups Orchestre des Nations and Scottish Ballet, soloists Charlie Siem, Anastasia Voltchok and Monique Mot as well as Christopher Bailey, arts and health lead, WHO and co-director of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general, WHO, will introduce the concert which follows on from the recent launch of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab. A collaborative effort between the WHO Regional Office for Europe, the Steinhardt School at New York University (NYU) Community Jameel and CULTURUNNERS the lab aims to amplify scientific research on how the arts can improve human health and wellbeing. The Jameel Arts & Health Lab represents the first major arts and health initiative in the history of the WHO.
