At the inaugural Africa Climate Summit, Dr Mahmoud Mohieldin, Mr George Richards and Professor Laurence Tubiana will be convening a high-level private roundtable to bring together decision-makers to discuss how we can build a more just and equitable climate finance system.

Despite the interest of multilateral development banks and the private sector to increase climate financing towards low- and middle-income countries, frequently cited obstacles are the lack of investable projects in LMICs, and the perceived risk of investing in many LMICs.

The convening will highlight the importance of science-based, evidence-informed climate projects and policy programmes, and present  actionable opportunities for investment in science and innovation in LMICs - opening the pathway for more innovative, climate-positive investment opportunities in LMICs, and a more just and equitable framework for climate finance.
