Salma is an Associate Consultant with Dalberg Advisors, a strategy and policy advisory firm specializing in global development. While at Dalberg, most of her work has been with different parts of the UN System and UAE-based philanthropies, on topics such as climate and biodiversity, gender equity and women’s rights, and strategy evaluation and design.
Prior to joining Dalberg, Salma worked as a Strategy Analyst at Community Jameel, an international organization advancing science to ahelp communities adapt in a rapidly changing world. Out of the major fields of development that Community Jameel focuses on, Salma supported projects related to education including the development of a refugee education project in Bangladesh.
Salma has several notable research experiences. She worked as a research assistant at Global TIES for Children, an international research center at NYU dedicated to projects which promote children’s holistic development in low-income countries and conflict-affected countries. She assisted on the Education in Emergencies project focusing on improving the quality of education in Lebanon, Niger, and Sierra Leone. Salma also worked at Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research where she contributed to the background research of projects and policies in the GCC.
Salma is Egyptian and holds a B.A. degree in Economics from New York University Abu Dhabi.
